I live part of the year in the South West of France,
and part of the year in Australia. I paint different
subjects in both.-
In France I find
that my work focuses on such things as traditional and
historic buildings, which to me represent such things
as cosy, comforting, security and above all beauty.
In Australia my
work attempts to capture the vastness, freedom, fresh
and new...and above all beauty.

Primarly I am self
taught and have had the privilage ofsome wonderful teachers
through the years. Their patience prodding and constuctive
critics had helped make my work what it is today, and
my intention is to continue this journey.

Statement:
The challenge of transforming my pigments and art materials
into compelling images fires my creative ‘juices’.
This form of expression began with my earliest memories,
and has led me to explore: drawing, pastel, oil, acrylic
and now settling on water colour. The almost magic alchemy
of water and colour inspires me. The challenge becomes
working with the properties of the paper, the pigments
and water to create the most spectacular and sometimes
surprising passages of light and colour.
I paint both what I see and what I feel to express the
beauty and nature of my subject. I work intentionally,
employing traditional techniques, while allowing the
freedom of this uncertain medium take me on an exciting
journey. The finished work satisfies me when I know
there is nothing more I can do that will give true expression
of the mood and vision of my focus.
